The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) has launched a new digital platform designed to reshape how progress is tracked and delivered across the region. Called the Mindanao Development Tracker, the tool was unveiled during the culmination of the Mindanao Development Forum at Dusit Thani Residences on October 2.

This real-time monitoring system seeks to enhance results-based governance and accelerate inclusive growth. According to MinDA, the tracker offers an integrated view of ongoing and planned development projects, ensuring better coordination among government agencies, development partners, and communities.

A Unified Platform for Development

MinDA Executive Director Janet Lopoz explained that the tracker functions as a Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation System (RBMES), providing the public with open access to data on development programs and initiatives across Mindanao.

“When we are done, how do we measure whether we are making a dent? In our poverty, in our development. How do we measure? That we are able to align what we do whether its government, whether its development partners,” Lopoz emphasized.

The online platform–accessible at www.mindanaotracker.com–serves as a hub for monitoring, collaboration, and information-sharing. It is envisioned to act as the “central nervous system” for all development activities in the region, promoting stronger coordination and accountability.

Building Transparency and Impact

Developed in partnership with the European Union, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and various public and private stakeholders, the tracker represents a collective effort to improve transparency and strategic planning.

“The journey towards building the RBMES has been challenging but mostly exciting. The questions on alignment or ownership whether we are creating an impact has gradually been taking shape,” Lopoz noted.

She added that the tool is not just a database but a mechanism for accountability and action.

“It ensures that every project, whether its government, LGU, ODA-financed, foundation-funded every program, every project, and every partnership, harnessed as force for transformation, unlocking Mindanao's full promise, a Mindanao that is peaceful, inclusive and thriving for generations to come,” Lopoz underscored.

By introducing this unified tracking system, MinDA aims to strengthen collaboration, ensure transparency, and drive measurable impact, paving the way for more coordinated and sustainable development across Mindanao.
