The Negros Occidental Language and Information and Technology Center (NOLITC) sponsored the first International AI Education Summit at the Capitol Social Hall, where stakeholders embraced the chance to discuss the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in education.
Addressing the significant impact of AI on education systems and the workforce, the event brought together students and educators to provide them with the newest resources and tactics to reform education.
Shared vision for AI
In order to guarantee that Al is a "instrument of empowerment rather than exclusion," Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson emphasized the need for everyone to use technology for the sake of society.
“At the heart of the summit is a shared vision – one that recognizes Al not as a replacement for human intelligence, but as a powerful tool to enhance human capabilities, expand access to knowledge, and create innovative learning environments,” he said.
The president and CEO of NUADU Singapore, Jan Lambrechts, spoke on how education is changing in the era of agentic AI.
The president and CEO of EduExpert in Poland, Filip Czarnecki, discussed the growing interdependence between humans and AI in Industry 5.0.’
Future of AI
Under the direction of its president and CEO Dennis Franco Layug, the NOLITC and East West International Educational Specialists, Inc. Philippines organized the summit, which had as its theme "The Rise of Quantum AI and Agentic AI in Industry 5.0: Transforming Education, Economy, and Human Potential in the Digital Era."
Additionally in attendance were the governor's executive assistants, Charina Magallanes-Tan and Marie June Castro, NOLITC Administrator Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Consultant Rafael Coscolluela, and Board Member Rita Gatuslao, chair of the SP Committee on Education.
