Cebuanos Dominate National Age Group Triathlon

The Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) medalists Andrew Kim Remolino and Raven Faith Alcoseba led Cebuano triathletes to victory in the National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT), which took place in Subic Bay, Zambales, on Sunday, January 26.

Remolino and Alcoseba helped Cebu win the national championship by successfully defending their individual championships in the standard distances. 

Remolino, Alcoseba’s dominance

Remolino won the men's division of the 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, and 5-kilometer run race with a time of 56 minutes and 56 seconds.

Joshua Ramos of the Baguio Benguet Triathlon came in third place with a time of 57:31, while Matthew Justine Hermosa–who is also from Cebu–came in second with a time of 56:57.

Alcoseba, meanwhile, won the tournament's women's title for the third time in a row with a time of 1:03:55. 

Second place went to Erika Nicole Burgos in 1:06:56, and third place went to Katrina Salazar in 57:23.

Other winners

Dayshaun Ramos won the gold medal in the junior elite division with a time of 58 minutes and 44 seconds. The silver and bronze medals went to Juan Miguel Tayag (1:01:14) and Darell Johnson Bada (1:00:11), respectively.

In 1:07:17, Singapore's Janelle Susatra took first place in the women's junior division, followed by Erin Denise Burgos (1:16:33) and Adrian Ungos (1:19:53).
