Converge ICT Solutions Inc., led by billionaire Dennis Anthony Uy, has inaugurated its newest data center in Angeles City, Pampanga, marking a major step in its push to transform the Philippines into a global digital hub.
The 12-megawatt facility is designed to support high-performance computing, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning applications.
A New Era of AI-Driven Infrastructure
Dubbed the Angeles Data Center, the 5,000-square-meter facility is part of Converge’s National Digital Infrastructure, a full-stack architecture aimed at enabling advanced digital services nationwide. The center is engineered to optimize business processes, accelerate technological adoption, and set a new standard for AI-ready facilities in the country.
“Amid the ongoing digital revolution, our capabilities must keep pace with emerging technologies. We have focused on building world-class, future-ready facilities so we can become the country’s leading provider of digital services,” Uy said during the launch.
“With this advanced infrastructure, Converge is now ready to power the digital journeys of every Filipino and make full use of the latest innovations to drive the nation forward,” he added.
Sovereign Cloud and Data Security
The Pampanga facility will also host the Converge Cloud, a sovereign cloud infrastructure designed to meet domestic data residency requirements. By keeping critical government and enterprise data within the country, Converge aims to strengthen data sovereignty and secure digital services for clients from both public and private sectors.
Expanding the Digital Backbone
The company’s national digital footprint now spans nearly 900,000 kilometers of pure fiber, a growing Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, and multiple international subsea cable systems, including Bifrost and SEA-H2X, anchored by landing stations in Davao and La Union. Converge’s existing data center network includes facilities in Caloocan, Clark, and Pasig, all integrated to support cloud adoption and hyperscale workloads.
“You cannot move into AI, cloud, or advanced tech solutions without a strong digital backbone in place. This is infrastructure designed for full coverage, reliability, and scale,” Uy stressed.
Driving Innovation and Growth
Converge expects the Pampanga facility to accelerate digital transformation across sectors and fuel growth in its enterprise and services. With scalable capacity and robust infrastructure, the company positions itself to meet the country’s evolving digital demands while promoting innovation and technological advancement.
