The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) proudly welcomes 10 new players to its list of the greatest players of all time.
The most recent PBA MVPs and active players, June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson, were present to officially accept the awards as they were admitted into the exclusive club, together with basketball legends Nelson Asaytono, Danny Seigle, Jeffrey Cariaso, Bong Hawkins, and Manny Victorino.
Rounding out the ten were Yoyoy Villamin, Abe King, and the late Arnie Tuadles.
Examined by the PBA
Renauld "Sonny" Barrios, a former league commissioner, convened a 10-member panel that thoroughly examined, discussed, and chose the 10 players.
The committee selected the new members of the "50 Greatest Players" list, taking into account objective metrics including total impact, career points, and championships won.
The committee took into account a player's popularity, consistency, leadership, and mentoring role.
PBA tradition
The PBA has been adding players to the list in past anniversary celebrations, and the "50 Greatest Players" list honors the top 50 players in PBA history.
The 50-player list is now complete thanks to this year's inclusion, and the 2025–2026 PBA season opening ceremony will feature another celebration for the official 50th season of the league.
