Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo solidified his reign on the floor exercise with a stunning victory at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships. The Olympic gold medalist earned his fourth straight continental title, delivering a flawless routine that scored 14.600, edging out Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi and South Korea’s Moon Geonyoung.
The Winning Routine
Yulo's performance was a masterclass in skill and discipline. With a difficulty rating of 5.700 and an exceptional execution score of 8.800, he set the standard early in the finals. Judges also awarded him a 0.100 bonus for his clean dismount, sealing his place at the top of the podium and further reinforcing his dominance in the event. His fluid movement, explosive power, and unmatched form captivated both judges and fans alike.
Onward to More Finals
Yulo’s success extended beyond the floor exercise. He collected three bronze medals in other events, bringing home a total of one gold and three bronzes from Jecheon. He earned bronze in the vault with a score of 14.333 and again in the parallel bars (14.166), as well as the individual all-around competition with a total of 83.632 points.
Earlier in the competition, he had already topped the all-around qualifiers, showcasing his consistency and range across multiple apparatus. His ability to excel across events highlights not just his mastery but also his endurance and mental focus under pressure. These results are a testament to his rigorous training and determination to remain at the top of his sport.
Yulo’s campaign in South Korea isn’t over yet. He is still set to compete in the rings and horizontal bar finals. Although he placed seventh in the rings final so far, his overall performance remains strong as he continues to qualify in nearly every category he enters.
