Beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program can once again use their Guarantee Letters (GLs) at 262 participating Mercury Drug branches nationwide starting June 22, 2026.
The renewed partnership between the DSWD and Mercury Drug is expected to improve access to medicines and other essential medical supplies, while making the release and use of medical assistance faster and more convenient for beneficiaries.
Easier Access to Medicines and Medical Assistance
DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said the resumption of GL acceptance in Mercury Drug stores is part of the agency’s continuing efforts to strengthen the implementation of the AICS program and bring medical assistance closer to Filipinos in need.
She added that beneficiaries will now be able to use their Guarantee Letters more conveniently in participating branches to obtain needed medicines and medical supplies.
Stronger Efforts to Bring Services Closer to Filipinos
Dumlao said the initiative aligns with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to make government assistance more accessible and responsive, especially during times of urgent need.
The DSWD also noted that it previously forged a similar partnership with Generika Drugstore to widen access points for beneficiaries.
