Already thinking about your next vacation? Filipinos can start planning ahead as Malacañang has released the official list of holidays and special non-working days for 2027.
Under Proclamation No. 1427, several holidays will fall on Fridays, Mondays and weekends, giving workers and families opportunities to plan long weekends and quick getaways.
Mark these dates on your 2027 calendar
Here are the regular holidays to look forward to next year:
- January 1, Friday – New Year’s Day
- March 25, Thursday – Maundy Thursday
- March 26, Friday – Good Friday
- April 9, Friday – Araw ng Kagitingan
- May 1, Saturday – Labor Day
- June 12, Saturday – Independence Day
- August 30, Monday – National Heroes Day
- November 30, Tuesday – Bonifacio Day
- December 25, Saturday – Christmas Day
- December 30, Thursday – Rizal Day
More days off to watch out for
Aside from regular holidays, several special non-working days are also on the calendar:
- February 6, Saturday – Chinese New Year
- March 27, Saturday – Black Saturday
- August 21, Saturday – Ninoy Aquino Day
- November 1, Monday – All Saints’ Day
- November 2, Tuesday – All Souls’ Day
- December 8, Wednesday – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
- December 24, Friday – Christmas Eve
- December 31, Friday – Last Day of the Year
Meanwhile, February 25, Thursday, marking the EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary, will be observed as a special working day.
What about Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha?
The dates for Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha are not yet included in the proclamation. These will be announced separately once their dates are determined based on the Islamic or lunar calendar, including Islamic astronomical calculations.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend the actual dates to the Office of the President.
The Department of Labor and Employment, meanwhile, has been tasked with issuing the guidelines for the implementation of the 2027 holiday schedule.
