MindSpark, the country’s largest science museum, has officially opened at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City, offering over 100 interactive exhibits designed to spark curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Spanning 9,000 square meters, the museum features 30 themed rooms and hands-on learning zones, from a walkthrough model of the human heart to AI-powered robotics demonstrations.

Developed by the Philippine Amusement and Entertainment Corporation, MindSpark aims to complement classroom education by transforming abstract concepts into tangible experiences. Among its attractions are large-scale anatomy models, a functioning hospital laboratory, bubble science corners, fire safety simulators, engineering design spaces, gemology showcases, and live insect life cycle exhibits. Schools and organizations nationwide can also avail of guided tours and STEM-focused programs tailored for different learning levels.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

Education Secretary Sonny Angara, who led the launch, described MindSpark as a “playground for the mind.” He urged students to channel their curiosity into innovations that could address real-world problems, emphasizing that investing in young minds is vital to national progress.

“Innovation starts with curiosity,” Angara said, citing high school student Eisen Gabriel Francisco as an example. Francisco’s eco-friendly solution against the coco-lisap pest in Basilan helped save crops and boost the local economy, a testament, Angara noted, to the transformative power of youth-led science.

An Interactive Space for All Ages

MindSpark’s creators envision it as a hub for discovery, accessible to learners of all ages. Its immersive exhibits encourage visitors not only to observe but also to experiment, design, and solve problems—skills essential for thriving in a rapidly changing world.

By blending education with entertainment, the museum hopes to make STEM more engaging and relatable, breaking the stereotype that science is only for the classroom. Organizers believe that each inspired visitor is a potential future innovator who can help drive the country forward.

MindSpark is now open to the public, ready to welcome students, educators, families, and anyone eager to explore the wonders of science in a fun, hands-on environment.
