The Valenzuela City government has opened two new “Valenzuela Sentro Health Hubs,” upgraded medical facilities aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare for all city residents.

Located in Barangays Canumay West and Karuhatan, the new health hubs represent the city’s push to modernize its local healthcare system. Mayor Weslie Gatchalian described the launch as “a new era of strengthened, modernized, and more accessible health care services for every Pamilyang Valenzuelano.”

Accessible Health Services Every Day

Unlike typical community health centers, both facilities operate seven days a week, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. “Unlike regular centers, these facilities are uniquely open seven days a week, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., ensuring uninterrupted and convenient access to medical services,” Gatchalian emphasized.

Each hub is equipped to provide outpatient consultations, emergency first aid, mother and child care, dental and diagnostic services, a pharmacy corner, and even minor surgical procedures—bringing comprehensive and dignified healthcare closer to residents.

Expanding Health Coverage Across the City

According to the Valenzuela City Public Information Office, the inauguration marks just the beginning of a larger citywide healthcare initiative. Three more Sentro Health Hubs are scheduled to open soon in Barangays Mabolo, Mapulang Lupa, and Lawang Bato.

“With the first two hubs now operational, three more will soon rise to cover more communities across the city,” Mayor Gatchalian told The Manila Times. He added that these efforts align with his administration’s promise made during the 2025 State of the Health Address–to provide more medical personnel in villages, ensure a one-month supply of free medicine for senior citizens, and guarantee consistent availability of over-the-counter medicine in all city health centers.

A Step Toward Accessible Healthcare for All

The launch of the Valenzuela Sentro Health Hubs demonstrates the city’s commitment to providing inclusive and responsive healthcare for every family. Beyond new infrastructure, these hubs symbolize progress toward a future where every Filipino, regardless of income or location, can access affordable, reliable medical care when they need it most.

Through its “Valenzuelife” vision, the local government continues to prove that investing in people’s health is key to building stronger, more resilient communities.
