Bacolod Congressman and businessman Albee Benitez recently sold a portion of his holdings in DigiPlus Interactive Corp., earning around P35 million. The sale came as the company’s stock rebounded from a two-year low, demonstrating its ability to capitalize on market swings while maintaining confidence in its future.

Sale Timing and Market Impact

Benitez sold roughly 2.32 million shares between February 5 and February 27 at prices ranging from P14.08 to P16.76 per share.

Earlier in the month, the stock had fallen to P13.08. The transaction timing allowed him to secure gains while signaling to the market that DigiPlus retains strong fundamentals despite recent volatility.

Even after the sale, Benitez continues to hold 222.45 million shares, or 4.87 percent of the company, worth nearly P3.96 billion based on the March 10 closing price. This ensures he maintains significant influence over company decisions while benefiting from short-term profits. His move also sends subtle signals to other investors that he remains committed to the company’s growth trajectory.
