The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has rolled out a new digital platform designed to streamline the distribution of financial grants under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). The initiative aims to reduce delays and improve accessibility for beneficiaries across the country.

Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian led the ceremonial handover of mobile phones to 150 4Ps recipients from Infanta, Real, and General Nakar in Quezon. This launch is part of the “e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan” Digital Financial Inclusion program, which allows beneficiaries to access their cash grants conveniently through GCash.
The project follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to accelerate government processes, particularly in providing financial aid to Filipinos. Gatchalian highlighted the importance of digitalization in improving service delivery.
Shifting Grants to Digital Platforms
“The president told me and the other Cabinet secretaries to make sure that government transactions, such as the distribution of grants or assistance, become faster,” Gatchalian explained during the launch. “And to achieve that, we must shift these processes to digital systems.”
With the grants now linked to GCash accounts, beneficiaries no longer need to visit payout sites in person. “Now that you are registered on GCash, you no longer need to physically go to different places just to claim your grants,” Gatchalian added.
The secretary also reassured participants that the DSWD is taking steps to reduce the waiting time for 4Ps payouts. “Before the end of the year, your grants will no longer take 60 days or two months to be released because the plan of the DSWD is for you to receive them within the same month,” he said.
By digitizing financial aid distribution, the e-Panalo initiative not only saves time and travel expenses for beneficiaries but also strengthens transparency and efficiency in government operations. For ordinary Filipinos, this modernization represents a more reliable and faster means to access essential support, particularly for families who rely on 4Ps grants for daily needs.
