“Marites” Goes AI: US Startup Creates Filipino-Style Conversational AI

A technology startup has introduced a new artificial intelligence platform designed to make AI more relatable and accessible for Filipino users, especially those more comfortable with Taglish and informal online conversations.

BaioVet Tech Corp has launched 41ph, an AI system built around everyday Filipino speech patterns, including casual, conversational language commonly used in group chats and social media.

The company said the platform follows an “entertainment-first” approach, using humor and “chismis-style” interactions as an entry point before shifting into educational content. It aims to make topics like finance, health, and lifestyle easier to understand by framing them in familiar, conversational ways.

“Miss Marites” turns chismis-style chat into practical advice

At the center of the platform is its AI persona, Miss Marites, inspired by the Filipino slang term “Marites,” often linked to gossip-style conversations online.

Instead of formal explanations, the AI responds in a relaxed, Taglish tone, blending humor and cultural references while delivering practical guidance. It covers topics such as budgeting, travel planning, wellness, and daily life decisions in a conversational format that feels like chatting with a friend.

In sample interactions, the AI encourages users to budget wisely when traveling, prioritize experiences over spending, and practice emotional acceptance in stressful situations such as heavy traffic, all framed in informal, relatable language.

Access, features, and partnerships behind the platform

The platform is accessible online without requiring users to sign up or provide personal data. Users can try it directly through 41ph.net, where they can input questions and receive responses in seconds.

Development of the system was done in partnership with NewSpark Ink and Power School of Technology College Inc.alongside BaioVet Tech.

According to the company, the AI is designed to better understand informal Filipino language variations and provide real-time responses, positioning it as a locally adaptive tool that blends entertainment and education through a familiar conversational style.
