Fifteen local government units (LGUs) in Antique are proudly presenting their finest agricultural products in this year’s Binirayan Festival Pasundayag, a highlight of the province’s month-long celebration. The showcase opened at the Evelio B. Javier Freedom Park in San Jose de Buenavista on Monday, December 1, following the province’s Christmas lights switch-on.
Governor Paolo Everardo Javier led the opening of the trade fair, emphasizing the importance of promoting Antique’s rich agricultural heritage. “The 15 booths are displaying their best agricultural and agri by-products as a way of promoting them during the Binirayan Festival,” said Noralyn Setias, Supervising Agriculturist at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
Local Treasures on Display
Visitors to the Pasundayag can explore a wide array of products that showcase the province’s diverse agricultural output. Among the highlights are Sibalom’s Robusta coffee, which received a fine grade in the 2021 Philippine Coffee Quality Competition, and Don Tikyo Rum, recognized as the best product collection at the Department of Trade and Industry’s 2025 Panublion Regional Trade Fair. Fresh produce—including string beans, papaya, and eggplant—also fills the booths, representing the abundance of Antique’s farms.
The trade fair runs daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on December 1-22 and December 26-29, giving attendees ample time to browse, buy, and appreciate the province’s agricultural offerings.
Creative Booths Compete for Prizes
The Pasundayag also features a competition for the most creative booths, judged on originality, design, and light decorations. The grand prize winner will take home PHP200,000, while second and third place booths will receive PHP150,000 and PHP100,000, respectively. Consolation prizes of PHP50,000 each will be awarded to the remaining LGU booths to help cover their expenses.
With its combination of creativity, local flavors, and festive atmosphere, the Binirayan Festival Pasundayag not only celebrates Antique’s culture but also provides a platform for farmers and entrepreneurs to shine.
