Who says you have to fly out for authentic Indonesian food?
At Warung, Indonesia come straight to you: bold, vibrant, and packed with passion. Let's dive in and see what makes this place a must-try in Kapitolyo.
Warung
In Indonesian, “warung” means “a small, often family-owned shop or eatery,” a name that perfectly captures the story of Filipino sisters Tita Louh and Tita Tess.
After living in Indonesia for over 25 years, they were deeply familiar with the country’s rich and diverse flavors. In 2005, Tita Tess returned to the Philippines and partnered with her daughter to serve Indonesian dishes at a local food park, while Tita Louh supported them by sending fresh ingredients straight from Jakarta. A year later, their stall, aptly named “Warung-Warung,” was invited to sell at the Legazpi Sunday Market.
It quickly gained a loyal following, eventually leading to the opening of Warung Kapitolyo in 2016.
Balinese Charm in Every Corner
You’ll know you’ve arrived when you spot their Balinese-themed doorway. Inside, a spacious yet cozy interior welcomes you with natural light, wooden panels, and walls filled with Indonesian crafts.
The people here make the experience more inviting. From servers guiding you through the menu to the owners checking in on guests, every visit feels personal and warm. It’s no wonder it draws everyone, from families to friends on a food trip, all coming to enjoy their offerings.
A Selection of Genuine Flavors
Warung’s strength lies in staying true to authentic Indonesian recipes while also putting their own twist on a few dishes. Take the “Beef Rendang,” for example. In addition to the classic Indonesian version, they serve a “Legazpi” version, a homemade specialty that honors their early days at the Legazpi Food Market.
Special mentions go to the ever-so-flavorful “Nasi Goreng,” the tender “Sate Ayam,” and the refreshing “Es Teler,” all dishes that showcase the diverse flavors the restaurant’s become known for.
From Indonesia, With Love
From authentic recipes to warm hospitality, every visit to Warung lets you savor the flavors, stories, and family spirit behind each dish. More than just a restaurant, it’s a love letter to Indonesian cuisine brought straight to the heart of Kapitolyo.
