Metro Manila comes alive with art in the first quarter of 2026. Galleries open new shows. Outdoor projects appear in public spaces. Art fairs and exhibitions offer chances to see work by local artists and guests from other places. This list highlights the main art events in the city early in the year.
1. Art Fair Philippines 2026 at Circuit Makati (Feb 6–8)
Art Fair Philippines returns in 2026 at Circuit Makati. It brings together contemporary works from local and international galleries. Visitors can see paintings, sculptures, installations, and photography. Talks, workshops, and public art projects run alongside the exhibits. It is one of the largest platforms for Philippine contemporary art.
2. Umbraeleon Codex at Chapter House, Quezon City (Jan 16–Feb 26)
Umbraeleon Codex by Siglo Pecho is a solo exhibition exploring perception and experience through shadow play. The show runs from mid-January to late February at Chapter House in Sikatuna Village. It is intimate, hands-on, and visually striking. A unique way to start the art year.
3. Exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila
The Metropolitan Museum, or The M, continues its exhibition schedule into March. Highlights include Hail Holy Eyes by Jigger Cruz, featuring bold textures and saturated colors. Visitors can also see the winners of the Philippine Art Awards through January 31. The museum blends contemporary and traditional works.
4. Independent Galleries and Shows
Smaller galleries in Metro Manila also open new programs in early 2026 like the Galerie Francesca and Art Lounge Manila, which are set to present collaborative exhibitions this January.
Additionally, Art Underground on Mabini Street are also set to host solo and group shows, such as Mata sa Mata by Eric Bico and Erwin Romulo. These spaces offer a closer look at emerging Filipino artists.
