The old St. Vincent Ferrer Parish Church located in Bayambang has been formally designated as an archdiocesan shrine.
"We are pleased to note that the Gozos, a hymn for St. Vincent Ferrer, composed many years ago, is a testament of the census feeding and proof of the numerous favors received through his intercession,” read the decree.
Spiritual acknowledgement
The church's designation as a shrine acknowledges both its spiritual importance and its long history as a hub of devotion and faith.
With its new status, the shrine will now receive monthly visits and blessings for the ill via the intercession of St. Vincent Ferrer, the patron saint of reconciliation and building.
Additionally, it will have to regularly run charitable initiatives for the underprivileged.
