Planning to take a leap in business this 2026? Or maybe you and your partner are thinking of starting a family this year? According to feng shui expert Master Hanz Cua, the Year of the Fire Horse brings a mix of opportunities and challenges—but with the right symbols and practices, you can attract luck, success, and positive energy.
In an exclusive interview, Master Hanz shared his top feng shui tips to boost fortune in career, love, and family life this Year of the Horse.
The Horse Symbol: A Sign of Victory and Success
The horse is considered one of the most auspicious symbols in feng shui, representing victory, progress, and success. Master Hanz said that even a “Baby Horse” is believed to bring blessings into a household.
If you’re planning to have a baby this year, a Horse child is believed to bring success and good fortune to the family, especially if the parents are not born in the Year of the Rat. For couples who are not planning to have children, displaying a horse figurine or artwork can still attract positive energy.
For best results, place the horse symbol in the south area of your home, living room, or office. According to Master Hanz, this placement helps activate success luck and career opportunities.
Lucky Colors, Fruits, and Foods for Prosperity
Master Hanz highlighted blue as the lucky color for 2026. Blue represents the water element, which is considered the missing element this year. Incorporating blue in clothing, accessories, or home décor is believed to balance energy and attract good fortune.
For Chinese New Year celebrations, preparing 12 kinds of fruits symbolizes abundance for the 12 months of the year. Pineapple is a must-have, as its Chinese name “ong lai” means “prosperity comes.” Other recommended fruits include watermelon, melon, bananas, grapes, mangoes, strawberries, guava, chico, and even durian—any variety is welcome as long as you have 12 different kinds.
Noodles are also a staple, symbolizing long life, just make sure not to cut them. Tikoy, or sticky rice cake, represents close family ties and harmony, making it a meaningful dish for reunions and celebrations.
More than the symbols and traditions, Master Hanz emphasized that the most important ingredient for good fortune is being together with family while welcoming the new year.
