Over 10,000 services were delivered to more than 4,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during a one-day Serbisyo Caravan held at the Dubai World Trade Center, marking the biggest turnout in the initiative’s international run so far.
The event, dubbed Bagong Bayani ng Mundo–OFW Serbisyo Caravan, brought together various agencies to offer key services such as the issuance of e-cards, National IDs, and civil registry documents including birth, marriage, death certificates, and Certificates of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR).
“Napakalaki po ng naging turnout dito sa Dubai. Pinakamalaki sa lahat ng ating Serbisyo Caravan sa iba’t ibang bansa tulad ng Hong Kong, Japan, Qatar at Riyadh,” said Undersecretary Jainal Rasul Jr., who emphasized how this reflects the strong need for accessible services among Filipino workers abroad.
Thousands Receive On-the-Spot Help
Throughout the day, a total of 10,765 transactions were recorded, ranging from documentation services to counseling and legal aid. Due to the overwhelming demand, some participating agencies extended their service availability through the following day at the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai.
In addition to document processing, participants were also able to access business and financial literacy programs, franchising opportunities, mental health support, and other forms of assistance aimed at empowering OFWs in both personal and professional aspects of life.
A Warm Welcome and a Strong Message of Care
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ver thanked the host country for its openness and support for Filipino workers. “Dito, nabibigyan ang bawat Pilipino ng pagkakataong magtagumpay at maabot ang kanilang mga pangarap,” he said. “Kaya naman minarapat ng inyong pamahalaan na ilapit sa inyo ang mga serbisyo at ipadama ang pagkalinga at pagmamahal ng Inang Bayan,” he added.
With the success of the Dubai leg, more caravans are being planned for other parts of the UAE and countries with large Filipino communities, proving that even a single day of service can have a powerful impact.
