Tagaytay City is set to take center stage for the 2026 PhilCycling National Championships for Road, scheduled from February 17 to 20 next year, according to the International Cycling Union (UCI). Known for its challenging terrain and scenic routes, the city will once again serve as the primary venue for one of the country’s biggest cycling events.

The technical race course will span Tagaytay and extend to the Eighth District of Cavite and the First District of Batangas, giving both elite riders and young competitors a demanding but picturesque track to conquer. This multi-day competition will gather the country’s top cyclists across different categories, setting the tone for the 2026 racing calendar.

Showcasing a New Velodrome

PhilCycling president and Philippine Olympic Committee chief Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino announced that the 2026 edition will also highlight the newly constructed Tagaytay CT Velodrome, which will host the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) Track Championships from March 25 to 31.

This will mark a historic moment for Philippine cycling, as the country returns to hosting the Asian track championships after 31 years. The last time was in 1995, when the Amoranto Velodrome in Quezon City and Subic welcomed top riders from across the continent.

Full Lineup of Events

The cycling nationals will kick off with the Criterium races on February 16, followed by the Individual Time Trial on February 17, and the Road Races from February 18 to 20. Categories include Elite, Under-23, Juniors, and Youth, for both men and women.

For the first time, a Masters category will also be introduced, serving as a qualifier for the Asian Road Championships in Saudi Arabia, with official dates to be confirmed by the ACC. Outstanding Juniors will likewise earn spots in the national team as part of their incentives.

The upcoming championships not only highlight the country’s deepening commitment to cycling but also showcase Tagaytay as a prime sporting destination. With its modern facilities and challenging routes, the event aims to strengthen the Philippines’ foothold in the Asian cycling scene.
