The Awit Awards 2025 turned the Meralco Theater in Pasig City into a celebration of OPM’s brightest stars, with P-pop phenoms BINI and SB19 leading this year’s winners. The event highlighted the range, growth, and artistry of Filipino music, drawing attention to both established icons and emerging talents.
P-Pop Acts BINI and SB19 Dominate the Night
BINI emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, taking home People’s Voice Favorite Group Artist, People’s Voice Favorite Album of the Year for Talaarawan, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their hit Salamin, Salamin. Their fandom, the Blooms, also won the Vibe Stan Award, solidifying the group’s strong and growing following.
SB19 picked up four major awards, including Best Global Collaboration Recording, Best Rap/Hip-Hop Recording, Best Cover Art, and Best Music Video. Individual members also received recognition: Stell won Breakthrough Artist and Favorite New Solo Artist; Felip was named People’s Voice Favorite Solo Artist; and Justin took home Favorite Music Video of the Year for his dreamy visual Surreal. Together and individually, SB19 proved their continued dominance in the OPM scene.
Grand and Performance Awards Reflect OPM’s Diversity
The Grand Awards honored the year’s standout works, with Ben&Ben’s ”The Traveller Across Dimensions” winning Album of the Year, Lola Amour’s ”Namimiss Ko Na” named Record of the Year, and Cup of Joe’s ”Misteryoso” crowned Song of the Year.
Across genres, artists showcased excellence: Dionela won Solo Artist of the Year, Ben&Ben claimed Best Group Performance, 12th Street was recognized as Best New Group, and collaborations like Sining by Dionela and Jay-R stood out in the crowded field.
Other highlights included wins for Moira and Juan Karlos, Fast Pitch, Alvin Cornista, Devonaire District, and the Ateneo Boys Choir, showing OPM’s depth and versatility.
Technical and Special Awards Recognize Behind-the-Scenes Talent
Behind-the-scenes contributions were honored with awards for engineering, arrangement, and visual artistry. SB19 and Gloc-9 added to their victories with awards for Best Cover Art and Best Music Video. Special categories recognized seasonal, regional, pop, R&B, and inspirational tracks.
